The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire a love of literature and language.
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential through differentiated teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a dynamic and engaging English curriculum.
  • Participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including the Poet in Residence and Librarian initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and leadership skills.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching English.
  • Experience in delivering engaging and effective lessons to a range of abilities.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities in English, such as drama, writing clubs, or poetry events.
  • Experience in a faith-based or values-driven educational setting.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student support initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Catholic values and inclusive education practices.
