The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English to students across a range of key stages, tailoring lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Plan, set, and mark regular written and oral work, ensuring alignment with departmental standards and school policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment, working closely with the Head of Department to support learning outcomes.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, exam preparation, moderation, and assessment processes.
- Contribute to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance the school’s academic and cultural life.
- Attend all required school events, including staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and prep duties.
- Uphold and promote the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures, including adherence to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience in teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and KCSIE guidelines.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
- Familiarity with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Experience with internal and external professional development opportunities.
- Ability to take on additional responsibilities, such as teaching a second subject.
