A school is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Teacher of Politics to join a vibrant and collaborative department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils at all times.
  • Set and mark regular written and oral work in line with departmental and school expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupils’ progress and attainment, and liaise with the Head of Department.
  • Ensure marking is consistent with agreed departmental standards and policies.
  • Participate fully in departmental activities, including meetings, examination preparation, and assessment.
  • Contribute to departmental events outside the school day, such as lectures or enrichment activities.
  • Engage in wider extra-curricular activities, according to personal skills and interests.
  • Attend required school functions, including staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and supervisory duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge.
  • Experience in teaching Politics or a related subject.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong pastoral care ethos.
  • Familiarity with independent education and boarding school environments.
  • Experience with extra-curricular programme development.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to departmental events and enrichment activities.
