The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Music Technology Teacher to join a well-resourced and successful department. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-achieving A Level programme, with a focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of music production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level Music Technology lessons following the Edexcel specification.
  • Support students in developing their understanding of music theory, production techniques, and practical composition.
  • Manage and maintain four fully equipped music studios and a dedicated teaching suite.
  • Supervise and guide students in producing original studio projects and coursework components.
  • Collaborate with peripatetic teachers and visiting practitioners to enhance the learning experience.
  • Encourage student involvement in school productions, including the annual Hurtwood Album and Project YouTube.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in A Level Music Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of the Edexcel specification and assessment requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver both theoretical and practical lessons.
  • Experience in using industry-standard software such as Pro Tools and Logic.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a music production team or overseeing large-scale projects.
  • Background in working with students on creative and collaborative projects.
  • Experience in supporting students with music production and composition techniques.
