The Opportunity:

As a Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring operational excellence. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, accuracy, and collaboration, and who is passionate about upholding the highest standards of governance and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on regulatory compliance, ensuring policies and procedures meet Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) requirements.
  • Develop and implement an annual Compliance Plan, including regular monitoring and audit activity.
  • Maintain the school’s readiness for inspection through accurate records, policy oversight, and staff awareness.
  • Oversee UKVI compliance, working with admissions and boarding teams to ensure accurate visa documentation and monitoring.
  • Act as Deputy Data Protection Manager, supporting GDPR compliance, managing data processes, and handling Subject Access Requests.
  • Support Health & Safety compliance in partnership with the Estate and Facilities Manager, ensuring policies, training records, and safety audits are up to date.
  • Maintain central records for policies, licences, contracts, and insurance, ensuring timely updates and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working across all departments.
  • Ability to challenge non-compliance professionally and drive timely solutions.
  • Proactive approach to learning new regulations and monitoring legislative changes.

Preferred

  • Experience in regulatory compliance within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with UKVI and GDPR requirements.
  • Experience in health and safety management.
