Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students to achieve outstanding results.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student progress and attainment.
  • Support the school’s leadership programme by integrating leadership and character development into the English curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help students improve.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and school values.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of school-wide events and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience of teaching to GCSE standard.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality teaching that drives student achievement.
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
  • Experience working in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
