The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join our department and inspire a lifelong love of mathematics in students. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons that engage students and promote deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Design and implement schemes of work aligned with the school’s curriculum, including White Rose Maths and Edexcel GCSE.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and provide targeted support to address learning gaps.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning.
- Support students in developing the confidence and skills needed to apply mathematics in real-world contexts.
- Encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent learning in students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the Maths curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for GCSE Mathematics.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
Preferred
- Experience with White Rose Maths or similar curricula.
- Experience of teaching in a school with a strong focus on student engagement and academic achievement.
- Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
- Experience of working with diverse student groups and supporting students with different learning needs.
