Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of students requiring additional support.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Work closely with colleagues to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a consistent approach to student development and well-being.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
  • Support the school’s mission of 'Success for All' through innovative and effective teaching practices.
  • Stay up to date with current educational research and best practices in intervention and literacy support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and a commitment to student success.
  • Experience in teaching students requiring intervention or additional support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering targeted intervention programs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with assessment and progress tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of literacy support strategies and resources.
  • Experience in a school with a strong emphasis on community and student well-being.
