The Opportunity:

As a Teaching and Learning Coordinator - Art, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative future of a school’s Art department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and visionary professional to lead and inspire students and staff through innovative and impactful teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students.
  • Develop and implement creative, engaging and inclusive Art curricula that align with the school’s vision and educational goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Arts Faculty to promote cross-disciplinary learning and shared best practices.
  • Support and mentor a team of specialist teachers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Organise and deliver a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including workshops, exhibitions and educational visits.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with local artists, cultural institutions and organisations to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality Arts experiences.
  • Manage and maintain the school’s Art facilities, ensuring they are used effectively and safely.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong background in Art education with proven experience in teaching and leading a department.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Art or a related field.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
  • A passion for the Arts and a commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in students.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality Art curricula and extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a team of specialist teachers and technicians.
  • A proven track record of student achievement and success in national and regional Art competitions.
  • Experience working with a wide range of students, including those from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Familiarity with digital and interactive teaching tools and technologies.
