Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging music lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4, including preparation for GCSE Music.
  • Coordinate the delivery of externally provided music lessons across the school.
  • Support the development of a vibrant musical culture through extra-curricular activities such as ensembles, choirs, and performances.
  • Utilise state-of-the-art facilities including a dedicated music room, recording studio, and practice rooms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design a curriculum that fosters creativity, confidence, and cultural understanding.
  • Encourage student participation and provide support for individual and group musical development.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of enriching student lives through education, nurture, and inclusion.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching music at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and student development.
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver music lessons across the school.
  • Passion for music and the performing arts.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching some aspects of performing arts.
  • Familiarity with music technology and software.
  • Experience in leading or supporting extra-curricular music activities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
