The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will deliver the English curriculum across all Key Stages and support extra-curricular activities. This is a temporary maternity cover role, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver creative and engaging English lessons aligned with pedagogical best practice.
- Support the delivery of the English curriculum across all Key Stages.
- Contribute to ‘University Stretch’ sessions and other whole school initiatives.
- Take on a form tutor role and support student pastoral care.
- Participate in departmental improvement projects and extra-curricular activities.
- Represent the English department in school events and initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge.
- Experience in teaching English at Key Stages 1–5.
- Strong understanding of pedagogical best practice.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willingness to take on a form tutor role.
Preferred
- Experience in contributing to co-curricular provision.
- Background in departmental improvement projects.
- Experience with University Stretch or similar enrichment programs.
- Familiarity with independent school environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
