The Opportunity:
As a Food Subject Leader, you will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the Food department. You will inspire students, lead colleagues, and contribute to raising standards across the school, ensuring a focus on student progress and attainment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Food curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- Support and mentor staff within the department to enhance practice and improve outcomes for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with other subject leaders to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leaders to shape the strategic direction of the school’s Food department.
- Promote a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Represent the school at relevant events and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Food education.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to improve student attainment and progress.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with current Food education trends and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience with cross-curricular collaboration.
- Experience in supporting staff professional development.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
