The Opportunity:
The Head of Netball will lead and develop one of the school’s most successful sports programmes. This role offers the chance to shape the strategic direction of netball, ensuring continued excellence and inclusivity across all age groups. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on student engagement, performance, and long-term development in netball.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the netball programme, ensuring a culture of ambition, organisation, and inclusivity.
- Design and implement coaching strategies across all age groups, supporting both participation and performance.
- Coordinate and manage fixtures, training sessions, and events, including weekday and weekend commitments.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including other Heads of Sport, to ensure a collaborative approach to the school’s sporting provision.
- Teach and coach a variety of sports within the PE and Games curriculum.
- Support the wider curricular and co-curricular life of the department, including participation in fixtures and events.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies, promoting the well-being of students.
- Work closely with the Director of Sport to deliver the school’s sporting vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in coaching and leading a successful netball programme.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience in teaching and coaching within an educational setting.
- Ability to manage a busy fixture calendar and deliver high standards of performance.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience coaching one of the school’s summer sports.
- Experience of teaching GCSE and/or A Level PE.
- Experience working with ECTs (Early Career Teachers) or in a leadership role within education.
