The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role involves teaching English to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach English Literature at Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will contribute to a school that values excellence, diversity, and innovation in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support students in developing strong literacy skills and a love of reading and writing.
- Participate in staff development and training programs to enhance teaching practice and professional growth.
- Contribute to the pastoral care of students and support their overall academic and personal development.
- Engage in extracurricular activities and school events that promote the school’s values and mission.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience teaching English to Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire a passion for English among students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s vision of "Excellence for All."
Preferred
- Experience teaching English Literature at Key Stage 5.
- Familiarity with the Dunraven Educational Trust and its values.
- Experience in a multi-ethnic, inclusive school environment.
- Demonstrated success in student achievement and progress.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or leadership roles within a school setting.
