Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5 with a focus on high-quality, inclusive education.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire a lifelong love of English.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning practices.
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship programmes to enhance your practice.
  • Promote the school’s WE BELIEVE principles in all aspects of teaching and student interaction.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
  • Experience teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach KS5.
  • Commitment to inclusive and high-quality education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with mentoring or supporting ECTs (Early Career Teachers).
  • Familiarity with the school’s WE BELIEVE principles.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
  • Background in developing and delivering CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse student needs.
