Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE course design, delivery, and assessment
  • Deliver effective English assessment strategies at KS3
  • Implement proven methods for raising attainment and student engagement
  • Promote consistently high standards of academic achievement and behaviour
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental goals and student success
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Support student aspirations and personal development
  • Participate in staff development and professional learning opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Proven experience in GCSE course design, delivery, and assessment
  • Strong understanding of English assessment at KS3
  • Demonstrated ability to raise attainment in a classroom environment
  • Commitment to high standards of academic achievement and student behaviour

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives
  • Background in strategies for raising student aspirations and outcomes
  • Experience in a high-performing school environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
