We are seeking an English Teacher - Second in Charge to join a dynamic and high-achieving school. This role offers the opportunity to lead and inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, while contributing to a school culture that values excellence, diversity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support the Head of Department in the management of the English curriculum and staff.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Lead and mentor junior teachers, fostering a culture of professional growth and development.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school’s mission of "Excellence for All."
  • Work closely with students, parents, and external partners to enhance the learning experience.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission of "Excellence for All."
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-ethnic, coeducational school environment.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and student welfare.
