The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will inspire a love of literature and language in students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. You will play a vital role in shaping a knowledge-rich curriculum and supporting the school’s mission to develop articulate, reflective young men.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5
  • Contribute to a carefully sequenced English curriculum, including the school’s reading spine
  • Inspire a love of reading, language and literature in all pupils
  • Support departmental work in curriculum development, assessment and intervention
  • Engage in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Promote high standards of teaching and learning aligned with the school’s vision
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching English
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student development
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support school-wide priorities

Preferred

  • Experience with A Level Law teaching
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities such as theatre or music
  • Experience in curriculum development or assessment
  • Familiarity with Catholic school values and ethos
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
