The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Upper School English Teacher to join a dynamic and forward-thinking institution. This role is central to shaping student learning and fostering a passion for English. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to Upper School students.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and well-managed learning environment.
- Promote the welfare and wellbeing of students through positive behavior management.
- Use ICT to enhance teaching and support student learning.
- Analyze student data to inform teaching and improve student achievement.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s extra-curricular program.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s educational goals.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and the wider school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in teaching English at the Upper School level.
- Graduate qualified teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and work under pressure.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience in inspiring students and fostering a love of learning.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience teaching IGCSE and A Level English.
- Experience working with EAL students.
- Familiarity with the British education system.
- Experience in an international school setting.
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject area.
- Demonstrated ability to improve student achievement through clear goal setting.
