The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, imaginative, and innovative English lessons across all key stages, including A-level.
  • Collaborate with the English team to share best practice, develop resources, and enhance pedagogy.
  • Inspire and motivate students of all abilities and backgrounds to achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Guide students in developing their skills in English language and literature, encouraging a lifelong love of the subject.
  • Work closely with colleagues and contribute to a supportive, collaborative working environment.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunities, and student wellbeing.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme and take responsibility for your own continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A teaching degree, QTS, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent, recognised for teaching in the UK.
  • Demonstrated academic qualifications in English or a related subject area.
  • A genuine passion for English language and literature and the ability to inspire students.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a supportive working environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across a range of key stages, including A-level.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Experience in a school with a strong commitment to equal opportunities and inclusion.
