This role combines class teaching with leadership responsibilities in English across the Prep School. As a Class Teacher and Lead Teacher of English, you will inspire a love of reading and writing while driving high standards in teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons to students in the Prep School.
  • Lead and support the development of English teaching across the department.
  • Inspire a passion for reading and writing through innovative and creative teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the school’s curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Support the school’s values and mission through active involvement in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and students to ensure a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the Prep School level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading a department or team.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation in teaching practices.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and resources in education.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • A passion for co-curricular and extracurricular engagement.
