Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Support the development of students’ literacy and critical thinking skills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and music-related events as part of the school’s unique ethos.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Ability to teach across key stages and support student learning at all ability levels.
  • Commitment to raising standards and fostering a love of English and literature.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or literacy support.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology integration in the classroom.
  • Experience in a school with a strong arts or music focus.
