The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English & Media Teacher to join a supportive and collaborative department. This role offers the chance to shape the learning experience of students at both KS3/4 and KS5, delivering engaging and innovative lessons in English and Media Studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English and Media Studies to students at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support student achievement.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that promotes critical thinking and creativity.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Support the Head of Creative, Film and Media in the delivery of the Media Studies curriculum at KS5.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Media Studies at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Media Studies at KS5.
  • Familiarity with AQA assessment criteria and marking practices.
  • Experience of using interactive teaching technologies such as visualisers and interactive screens.
  • Experience of mentoring or supporting newly qualified teachers.
