The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English & Media Teacher to join a supportive and collaborative department. This role offers the chance to shape the learning experience of students at both KS3/4 and KS5, delivering engaging and innovative lessons in English and Media Studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English and Media Studies to students at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support student achievement.
- Develop and implement a stimulating curriculum that promotes critical thinking and creativity.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
- Support the Head of Creative, Film and Media in the delivery of the Media Studies curriculum at KS5.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Media Studies at KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
- Experience of working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching Media Studies at KS5.
- Familiarity with AQA assessment criteria and marking practices.
- Experience of using interactive teaching technologies such as visualisers and interactive screens.
- Experience of mentoring or supporting newly qualified teachers.
