Summary:

EYFS Teacher role available at a leading co-educational school in South Derbyshire.

About the School:

A co-educational boarding and day school with over 400 pupils, aged 3 to 13, the school is set in a historic estate and values a broad, balanced education that nurtures both academic and personal development.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an EYFS Teacher to join our dedicated Pre-Prep team and deliver high-quality early years education. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate teaching to Nursery classes (Squirrels and Hedgehogs).
  • Work collaboratively with the Pre-Prep and wider school team to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to early years education.
  • Support the pastoral care of pupils and contribute to their overall well-being and development.
  • Plan and implement a varied curriculum that promotes creativity, physical activity, and social skills.
  • Participate in all aspects of school life, including boarding duties and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate regularly with parents.
  • Contribute to staff development and professional learning within the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in early years education.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of young children.
  • Willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life, including boarding duties.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take responsibility for the pastoral care of pupils.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a boarding school environment.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Familiarity with child-centered teaching approaches.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
