As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and functional environment that supports the school’s mission of providing high-quality education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the school buildings are maintained to a high standard, including cleaning, tidying, and general upkeep.
  • Support the smooth running of school events, meetings, and functions by preparing and managing the necessary facilities.
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of school equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good working order.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Monitor and report on any maintenance issues or concerns promptly.
  • Help with the storage and organisation of school supplies and resources.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety policies across the school site.
  • Assist in the management of school premises during non-teaching hours as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and practices.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including weekends and evenings if required.

Preferred

  • Experience with school operations or facilities management.
  • Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
  • Awareness of the importance of creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices.
