As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and functional environment that supports the school’s mission of providing high-quality education. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school buildings are maintained to a high standard, including cleaning, tidying, and general upkeep.
- Support the smooth running of school events, meetings, and functions by preparing and managing the necessary facilities.
- Assist with the maintenance and operation of school equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good working order.
- Collaborate with staff and students to promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Monitor and report on any maintenance issues or concerns promptly.
- Help with the storage and organisation of school supplies and resources.
- Support the implementation of health and safety policies across the school site.
- Assist in the management of school premises during non-teaching hours as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and practices.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including weekends and evenings if required.
Preferred
- Experience with school operations or facilities management.
- Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
- Awareness of the importance of creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices.
