The Opportunity:
As a Visual Arts Director, you will lead and shape the visual arts curriculum across multiple academies, ensuring a knowledge-rich and engaging learning experience for all students. This role is central to driving excellence in the arts and inspiring a passion for creativity in young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a high-quality, knowledge-rich visual arts curriculum across all academies.
- Collaborate with subject leads and senior leaders to evaluate and enhance curriculum quality.
- Build subject expertise and support staff development in visual arts.
- Increase participation and achievement in visual arts across the trust.
- Deliver a robust enrichment program that supports student engagement and creativity.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align visual arts initiatives with the trust’s educational goals.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity and innovation in the arts.
- Monitor and report on the impact of visual arts programs on student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a visual arts or related subject area.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design and delivery in visual arts.
- Experience in leading and managing a team of educators.
- Ability to evaluate and improve educational programs and outcomes.
- Commitment to raising student achievement and participation in the arts.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Background in teacher training or professional development.
- Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in the arts.
