The Opportunity:
As the Director of Sports and Outdoor Education, you will lead the development and delivery of a dynamic, knowledge-rich curriculum that inspires student participation and achievement in sports and outdoor education. This role is central to shaping a high-quality enrichment offer across the trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an ambitious, knowledge-rich sports and outdoor education curriculum across all academies.
- Collaborate with subject leads and senior leaders to evaluate and enhance curriculum quality and student outcomes.
- Build subject expertise and support staff development in sports and outdoor education.
- Increase participation and achievement in sports and outdoor education across the trust.
- Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with the trust’s educational vision and values.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and excellence in sports and outdoor education.
- Monitor and report on the impact of the curriculum and enrichment programs.
- Support the delivery of a high-quality, engaging enrichment offer for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational trust setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in sports and outdoor education.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and subject leads.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve educational programs.
Preferred
- Experience in leading large-scale educational initiatives or programs.
- Knowledge of innovative approaches to outdoor education and physical development.
- Experience with teacher training and professional development.
- Familiarity with flexible working and staff wellbeing strategies.
