The Opportunity:

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in managing student bursaries and supporting various finance functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and banking. This is a full-time, permanent role with immediate start availability, offering the chance to contribute to the financial operations of a top-ranking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process student bursary applications and payments.
  • Support finance operations, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and banking processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the finance office to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide administrative support for finance-related queries and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a bursary or finance role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and spreadsheets.
  • Experience with accounting principles and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience with financial systems such as Sage or similar.
  • Knowledge of educational funding and bursary schemes.
  • Experience in a college or sixth form setting.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £26,993 - £28,235 per annum.
