The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic Mathematics team at a highly regarded sixth form college, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to students aged 16-18. The Mathematics Lecturer will be responsible for teaching A level Maths, Further Maths, Core Maths, and other related subjects, with a particular emphasis on the new A level Statistics course.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that ensure students understand mathematical techniques on the syllabus.
- Mark assessments, including tests, mock exams, and homework assignments, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor student progress and communicate any concerns to relevant parties.
- Demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through individual tutorials and pastoral care.
- Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Participate in team meetings and share best practices with colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student performance and progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject.
- A PGCE or other level 4 teaching qualification, or a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job.
- Experience in teaching Mathematics at A level or equivalent.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for students.
Preferred
- Experience with A level Statistics.
- Experience teaching 16-18 year-olds.
- Experience in a sixth form or college setting.
- Experience with Functional Skills or GCSE Maths.

- Competitive salary range of £31,339 – £46,059 per annum.
