The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic Mathematics team at a highly regarded sixth form college, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to students aged 16-18. The Mathematics Lecturer will be responsible for teaching A level Maths, Further Maths, Core Maths, and other related subjects, with a particular emphasis on the new A level Statistics course.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that ensure students understand mathematical techniques on the syllabus.
  • Mark assessments, including tests, mock exams, and homework assignments, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate any concerns to relevant parties.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individual tutorials and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student performance and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject.
  • A PGCE or other level 4 teaching qualification, or a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at A level or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for students.

Preferred

  • Experience with A level Statistics.
  • Experience teaching 16-18 year-olds.
  • Experience in a sixth form or college setting.
  • Experience with Functional Skills or GCSE Maths.
