A school is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to support the School Business Manager and Finance Manager. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in school finance and business management. The successful candidate will contribute to the operational efficiency of the school’s financial functions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day running of finance processes, including orders, invoices, and compliance
  • Assist with Health and Safety systems, records, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate the stock and delivery of goods and services
  • Coordinate the school lettings process, including booking, contracts, and customer liaison
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and statutory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the School Business Manager and Finance Manager
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Support the development and implementation of financial strategies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in finance or administration
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in using financial software and systems
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience with school lettings or property management
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting
