As the Head of Geography, you will lead the Geography department and play a key role in shaping the curriculum and student learning experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and inspire a passion for Geography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging Geography curriculum
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular learning
  • Support the professional development of Geography staff
  • Promote the school’s Catholic ethos and values within the department
  • Ensure the department meets all academic and pastoral standards
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive school improvement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department
  • Knowledge of current Geography teaching strategies and resources
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support
  • Familiarity with the Haringey Education Partnership
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups
