The Opportunity:
As a Finance Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the school’s financial operations, contributing to key areas such as sales ledger, cash book management, and credit control. This role is ideal for someone looking to build their accounting experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage sales ledger and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Support cash book management and bank reconciliation processes
- Maintain strong relationships with parents and colleagues through effective communication
- Assist in credit control and ensure timely resolution of outstanding payments
- Support the Foundation’s finance operations and contribute to financial reporting
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required
- Ensure compliance with financial procedures and internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the school’s financial processes
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication skills and confident telephone manner
- Organised and detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to build positive working relationships with parents, colleagues, and external contacts
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Good Excel skills and basic accounting knowledge
Preferred
- Previous experience in finance, administration, or customer service
- Experience within the education sector
- Familiarity with financial software and systems
- Experience with sales ledger and credit control processes
