The Opportunity:

As a Specialist Teacher, you will deliver targeted, supportive interventions to students with dyslexia, helping them reach their full potential. You will work closely with other professionals and provide individualized instruction based on diagnostic assessments, making a meaningful impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted, individualized and small group interventions to support students with dyslexia.
• Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
• Conduct dyslexia assessments and access arrangements testing, if qualified.
• Monitor and report on student progress regularly.
• Provide feedback to parents and other professionals on student development.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and interventions.
• Stay up to date with best practices and developments in dyslexia support and education.
• Support students in building confidence and independence through tailored teaching approaches.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with relevant experience in dyslexia support or special educational needs.
• Membership of a relevant professional regulatory body.
• Experience in delivering individualized and small group instruction.
• Strong knowledge of dyslexia and its impact on learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• Experience in conducting dyslexia assessments and access arrangements testing.
• Experience with mainstream curriculum delivery.
• Experience in working with students aged 8–16.
• Knowledge of alternative teaching methods for students with learning differences.
