The Opportunity:

As a Hockey Coach, you will play a key role in developing a dynamic and successful hockey programme. You will lead training sessions, fixtures, and matches, ensuring all students enjoy a positive and rewarding experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor students across all levels of the hockey programme
  • Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions and match strategies
  • Support performance analysis using tools such as Veo
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Hockey to ensure a cohesive and effective programme
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture
  • Encourage student participation and progression from grassroots to performance level
  • Contribute to the overall sporting and extra-curricular ethos of the school
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during training and matches

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience coaching hockey at a competitive level
  • Strong knowledge of hockey techniques, tactics, and training methods
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of young athletes

Preferred

  • Experience with performance analysis tools such as Veo
  • Background in education or youth development
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of Catholic values and principles
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and student support
