The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Food Technology Technician to support the Food Technology Department in delivering high-quality technical and administrative services. This role plays a key part in ensuring the department runs efficiently and effectively, contributing to the educational experience of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Food Technology Department with technical and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of equipment and resources.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to departmental operations.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of food technology lessons and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the department.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Food Technology curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in food technology or a related field.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a technical or administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in food preparation or catering.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Familiarity with educational software and systems.
  • Previous experience in a school kitchen or similar environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: £23,625 to £26,020 per annum pro-rata.
