Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging science lessons that promote curiosity and critical thinking
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that ensures all students achieve their full potential
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-plan and deliver units of work consistently across year groups
  • Support student behavior through a school-wide approach that prioritizes learning and respect
  • Participate in professional development and training programs to enhance teaching practice
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to inform teaching and support
  • Engage with the wider school community and contribute to the school’s mission and values
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS
  • Proven experience in science teaching at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Commitment to student achievement and high standards of teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental training and development
  • Familiarity with Ark Schools’ values and teaching approach
  • Experience with NPQML, NPQSL, or Lead Practitioner courses
  • Background in behaviour management and student support
  • Experience in delivering science education with a focus on depth for breadth
