The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate Teacher of English / Humanities (KS3) to join a supportive team and make a meaningful impact on students who benefit from a more personalised, structured approach to learning. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering confidence, resilience, and academic success in students transitioning through Key Stage 3.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive lessons in English and/or Humanities to KS3 students within the Thrive to Accelerate group
- Support students with diverse learning needs to close knowledge gaps and develop core literacy and thinking skills
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes progress, independence, and self-belief
- Use targeted interventions and assessment strategies to accelerate student outcomes
- Collaborate with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and families to provide holistic support
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans to meet the needs of all students
- Monitor and track student progress regularly to ensure continuous improvement
- Participate in team planning and professional development to enhance teaching and learning
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge in English and/or Humanities
- Experience working with students who require additional support to access the curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and ability to build positive relationships with students
- Commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for student achievement
Preferred
- Experience in KS3 teaching and curriculum development
- Familiarity with targeted interventions and assessment strategies
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with pastoral and SEN teams
