The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the maths department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Collaborate with colleagues to co-plan and deliver consistent, innovative units of work.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the maths team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide professional development opportunities for maths staff to enhance teaching practices.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, strong behaviour, and student achievement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement in mathematics.
- Represent the maths department in meetings and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school maths department.
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics with a passion for teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of teachers.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery across all key stages.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a school rated as outstanding by Ofsted.
- Background in a non-selective, all-through academy setting.
- Familiarity with the Ark Schools values and DNA.
- Experience in delivering training and professional development for staff.
