Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality French lessons up to GCSE level, ensuring students achieve excellent results.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that align with the school’s rigorous academic curriculum.
  • Support students in making informed choices about their GCSE options, including French and Spanish.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the MFL department’s performance and contribute to a wide range of extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including coaching and leadership training.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management through the school’s centralised systems.
  • Stay up to date with educational research and apply it to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching French.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French up to GCSE level.
  • Experience in delivering lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a track record of raising attainment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Spanish at KS3.
  • Familiarity with curriculum design and pedagogical research.
  • Experience with international travel or exchange programmes.
  • Previous involvement in leadership or coaching initiatives.
