The Opportunity:
As a General Science Teacher - Middle School, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and inquiry-based science curriculum. You will help students develop critical thinking and scientific skills while contributing to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver an inquiry-based science curriculum aligned with IB standards.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
- Design and implement hands-on, interactive science lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning across disciplines.
- Monitor and assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Stay current with scientific developments and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.
- Support student well-being and provide guidance that promotes a positive learning culture.
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching science at the middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum and pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and inquiry-based science lessons.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Education or Science.
- Experience with inquiry-based learning and STEM integration.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).
- Familiarity with digital tools and online learning platforms.
- Experience working in an international school setting.
