The Opportunity:

As a Senior Chemistry Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a rigorous and engaging curriculum that challenges and inspires students across Grades 6 to 12. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and foster a deep understanding of chemistry through practical and theoretical instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chemistry to students across Grades 6 to 12, delivering a challenging and engaging curriculum.
  • Design and implement laboratory-based learning experiences that develop students’ practical skills and scientific thinking.
  • Inspire students to approach the subject with curiosity, precision, and confidence.
  • Contribute to the pastoral life of the school, including form tutoring and co-curricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
  • Support students in developing the skills needed for success in international curricula, such as the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of chemistry and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives that promote academic excellence and student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and a passion for teaching the subject.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at the Senior School level.
  • Ability to challenge and motivate high-achieving students.
  • Commitment to contributing to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula, particularly the IB Diploma Programme.
  • Demonstrated success in developing student engagement and achievement in science.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and technology in education.
