The Opportunity:

A Geography Teacher is needed for a one-year fixed term contract starting in September 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and to contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to A-Level.
  • Develop engaging and innovative teaching resources that reflect current best practices.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of co-curricular activities related to Geography.
  • Support the school’s ethos and commitment to pupil development both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attainment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching and learning.
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 to A-Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of Geography teaching and learning methods.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and a willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching Geography in an independent or selective school setting.
  • Familiarity with the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
  • Experience with outdoor learning or fieldwork in Geography.
  • A track record of successful student outcomes and progression.
