Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement effective PE strategies and programs that align with school goals.
  • Support and mentor PE staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safe management of boys’ changing rooms as part of the role.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate PE with broader school initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and engagement in PE.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the PE department.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading PE at a secondary level.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons.
  • Experience in developing and managing effective teaching resources and strategies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and developing a PE department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment in PE.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (if applicable).
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations.
