The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to teach Geography in KS3 with the potential to teach in KS4. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of high-quality learning experiences that align with the school’s vision for humanities education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons to KS3 students with the possibility of teaching in KS4
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective schemes of learning and teaching resources
  • Monitor and support student progress, implementing strategies to improve engagement and attainment
  • Contribute to the school’s strategic vision for humanities through long, medium, and short-term planning
  • Support the development of students’ wider skills through co-curricular and pastoral activities
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour
  • Participate in staff development and mentoring programmes
  • Engage in school events and community activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant good honours degree
  • Experience in teaching Geography at KS3
  • Commitment to raising pupil attainment and embracing challenges
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in either the private or maintained sector

Preferred

  • Experience teaching other humanities subjects in KS3
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies for students with mild specific learning difficulties
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation
  • Passion for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
