The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Violin Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate musician who can teach both 1:1 and in ensembles, with a focus on preparing pupils for exams, concerts, and personal musical goals. The ideal candidate will have experience with beginners and a strong interest in ensemble teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach violin and viola lessons to students of all levels
  • Prepare pupils for music exams, concerts, and personal musical goals
  • Develop and select appropriate repertoire for individual and ensemble lessons
  • Support and guide beginners up to Grade 2
  • Collaborate with other instrumental teachers and ensembles
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and student engagement
  • Provide feedback and progress reports to parents and students
  • Participate in school events and performances

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a violin teacher and performer
  • Ability to teach 1:1 and in ensembles
  • Experience preparing students for exams and performances
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to teaching beginners and developing their musical skills

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching viola
  • Keyboard skills
  • Experience in arranging parts for ensembles
  • Familiarity with music theory and repertoire selection
  • Experience with children and young adults
