The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Geography Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. This role involves teaching Geography up to KS5, with experience of the IB being a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching History up to Year 10.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Geography up to KS5, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster a deep understanding of Geography.
- Teach History up to Year 10 as required.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to Geography.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department to enhance teaching and learning.
- Participate in continuous professional development and staff training initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography.
- Experience teaching Geography at secondary level, up to KS5.
- Ability to teach History up to Year 10.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to promoting international understanding and bilingual education.
Preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) or French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
- Background in the UK education system or international school sector.
- Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular Geography programs.
- Fluency in both English and French.
