The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Geography Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. This role involves teaching Geography up to KS5, with experience of the IB being a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching History up to Year 10.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Geography up to KS5, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster a deep understanding of Geography.
  • Teach History up to Year 10 as required.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to Geography.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and staff training initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level, up to KS5.
  • Ability to teach History up to Year 10.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting international understanding and bilingual education.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) or French International Baccalaureate (BFI).
  • Background in the UK education system or international school sector.
  • Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular Geography programs.
  • Fluency in both English and French.
