The Opportunity:

As a SpLD Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with specific learning difficulties, delivering high-quality, evidence-based teaching that empowers them to achieve their full potential. You will work as part of a collaborative team focused on innovation, inclusion, and student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based specialist teaching tailored to the needs of students with SpLD.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and other staff to support student progress and development.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans in collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the wider school community to promote inclusion and support for students with SpLD.
  • Stay up to date with best practices and research in SpLD education and apply these in teaching and support strategies.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives related to neurodiversity and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SpLD support or special needs education.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies for students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Experience working within a school setting, preferably in a SEN or inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education.

Preferred

  • Experience in a specialist SpLD role or as a specialist teacher.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools and interventions for students with SpLD.
  • Experience with collaborative working and multi-agency support.
