The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Geography Teacher to join our successful department and contribute to the continued success of our students. This role offers the chance to teach the OCR B specification at GCSE and OCR A-Level, with opportunities for engaging in a rich extra-curricular programme that includes fieldwork and international trips.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to GCSE and A-Level students using the OCR B and OCR A-Level specifications.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results, with a track record of high attainment and progression to university.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of a wide range of co-curricular activities, including competitions, guest speakers, and fieldwork.
  • Undertake local fieldwork at KS3 and contribute to optional international trips for KS4 and KS5.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the department’s strong academic reputation.
  • Engage in the full life of the school, including pastoral and extra-curricular responsibilities.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography and education, and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Geography.
  • Ability to teach the OCR B specification at GCSE and OCR A-Level.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to be fully involved in the life of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience with ECT induction or a proven track record in teaching Geography at both GCSE and A-Level.
  • Experience in delivering fieldwork and managing international trips.
  • Background in extra-curricular activities and student leadership.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
