The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality German lessons that engage students and foster a love for language learning.
  • Promote cultural awareness and appreciation through curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the MFL department.
  • Provide additional teaching support in Spanish at KS3 where appropriate.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of creating a happy, inclusive, and academically successful learning environment.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching German at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and well-being.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Spanish at KS3.
  • Experience with ECTs or a track record of supporting new teachers.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Demonstrable success in raising student achievement and engagement.
