The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Physics to lead and inspire students in KS3 and KS4, driving curriculum development and raising standards. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Physics curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
- Inspire and motivate students through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
- Support and mentor other Physics teachers within the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to implement school-wide initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Participate in the development and delivery of extracurricular Physics activities.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and facilities to enhance student learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Relevant undergraduate degree in Physics or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching Physics at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
