The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Physics to lead and inspire students in KS3 and KS4, driving curriculum development and raising standards. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Physics curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
  • Inspire and motivate students through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Support and mentor other Physics teachers within the department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to implement school-wide initiatives.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of extracurricular Physics activities.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and facilities to enhance student learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant undergraduate degree in Physics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Physics at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
